philosophy
I value ethics and excellence most of all.
-
I am a thoughtful leader that executes for good, with over 20 years of relevant experience, education, and a track record of excellence.
I am interested in environmental, agriculture, consumer, housing, and learning sign language.
In 2005, I began my career in business by recommending Apple, the corporation, in a stock market competition, while studying in New York City. I still recommend Apple, the corporation.
I also recommend sheltering and sleeping well to protect oneself from abuse.
I believe the Earth is for enjoying and not for exploiting.
-
my career of self-employment includes, but is not limited to, formal contracts at: Training The Street, the New York City Department of Education, Stax Inc., The Carlyle Group, and Citi, in which I learned to lead, analyze, communicate, and excel (“LACE”).
I also wrote a top selling book for the Vault, co-founded a public relations entity before influencers became mainstream, and initiated a mentoring program at my undergraduate college.
I (sometimes regularly) donate to or volunteer in various community organizations, including but not limited to: ACLU, Almost Home Cat Rescue, Junior Achievement, RAINN, the Sierra Club, and Wikipedia.
-
In 2020, I founded EDVERSA, an entity for education, now paused.
In 2026, I founded JanJoy (limited availability).
on curiosity
I have learned that curiosity without structure risks becoming a rabbit hole that captures not only interest but also too much time. that is an Alice in Wonderland reference, as I share the same name and a willingness to examine norms.
I sometimes get lost in my curiosity about ethics, when I wonder which norms to adjust in hopes of progress. and it is possible that perfection in ethics is impossible. I may never know with complete confidence whether a decision is right, only whether it seems right.
the only wisdom I know without lingering curiosity is the value of rest. our contemporary society seems to prioritize rush over rest. I believe that makes it difficult to distinguish dreams from delusions. are we having beautiful dreams that can improve reality, or are we having desperate delusions that help us escape reality?
on capacity
I am unavailable this year.
